Gentlemen, The situation is that an American firm has two ships in port at Mombassa, Kenya, waiting for an armed escort so they can lay fibreoptic cable through the pirate-infested waters between Kenya and Yemen. For most of this mission, they will be about 200NM off the coast of Somalia moving north at 5-7 knots. These two ships have about 8 security personnel on-board each, but the are unarmed, so they will basically act as lookouts while our ship will have the muscle. The initial task of laying the cable should take a minimum of 14 days, but that could easily take longer if there is rough weather or mechanical issues. In addition, there may be a second escort required once we have reached Yemen. At that point, a second set of cable laying vessels will begin working between Sudan and Djbouti, and that may be an additional 11 days' work escorting them through the Gulf of Aden. So this is probably about 30 days at-sea. We have arranged to rent a 35 metre tug boat. She has two RHIBs on- board. Living conditions will be rough, with an accomodation built on the tug's rear deck. We are looking for 10 operators at a daily rate of $2,000/day at sea and $500/day for the administration/move days before and after the mission. We will also cover insurance and airfare. The only issue that may cause this project to fail is that we are having a difficult time arranging the weapons and ammunition required for the job. So I am not in a position to offer anything to you until I am certain this problem can be resolved. Assuming the weapons can be arranged in the next day or two, we would be looking to get you into Kenya this coming Saturday and setting sail on Monday 1 July. Please indicate if you are interested in this mission, and please feel free to refer to me other people you have worked with in the past. The ideal candidate has a Western SF or SOF background, and must be capable of working in English. Thank you, -Charles Barlow _______________ Charles BarlowDirector, Field SupportZariba Security Corporation001-613-883-8280 (24/7)

Dear Luis

We have solved the issue of securing the necessary weapons and last night we made an offer to the shipping agent. I have not heard from him yet this morning (it's only 0930 here in North America), but I expect that he is currently consulting with the ships' owners and their insurance companies. As soon as I know, you will know.

Thank you for your patience.

Yours truly,

Charles Barlow
