Background
The Iraq Operations Centre (IQOC) has been established as of 1 July 2004 in view of servicing
Iraq and Jordan operations, under the MEO Regional Division; namely through the provision of a
range of cost‐effective project management and related services to the UN clients for resultsbased
solutions that combine logistics, procurement, contract management, personnel
recruitment and administration, financial management, institutional strengthening, capacity
building and reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities
Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationships: UNOPS recruited PDS’s will be seconded to
the Security Section in Iraq (SSI) and will operate within this relationship. Protection Officers will
report directly to designate Protection Team Leaders who in turn report to the Chief Security
Advisor (CSA) Iraq.
Operational Command: All members of the PDS teams will be under the Operational Command
of the CSA for Iraq. Administration and Logistics support will be provided by UNOPS.
• Operate as a UN Protection Officer, in UN security phases 4 and 5.
• Attend team briefings on protection and team related issues.

• Provide inner protection ring for UN staff during missions/official business in UN security
phases 4 and 5 areas.
• Assess venues, collect information and conduct reconnaissance when required.
• Operate weapons, electronic counter measures and high tech equipment used in
protection of UN Staff Members.
• Adhere to ALL SOP’s and instructions as issued from time to time by the CSA.
Work implies frequent interaction with the following:
• SSI Staff members, UNHCR members and UNAMI staff.
• Other UN Agencies staff members.
• UNOPS personnel.
• Multi National Force – Iraq (MNF‐I); Government of Iraq (GOI); and private Security
Companies (PSC) in the field.
• Iraqi nationals
Required Selection Criteria
a. Education:
High School or equivalent diploma is required. Technical or vocational certificate in military or
police procedures and practices and self‐defense techniques or related field is a requirement.
A valid driver’s license is a requirement.
b. Work Experience:
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible security experience with a national or
international police, security or fire brigade organization. Training in martial arts and/or
specialized security practices and procedures an asset.
• Fluency in spoken and written English is a requirement. Knowledge of a second UN language
especially Arabic is an advantage
c. Key Competencies:

• Internal knowledge of UNAMI protection and security policies, processes and procedures.
• good technical skills to understand and consolidate the varying specializations such as
electronics, communications, mechanics, weapons and other sophisticated devices
encountered in personal protection operations;
• demonstrated ability to apply good judgment in the context of assignments given;
• ability to detect and identify dangerous objects and knowledge of how to deal with such
objects;
• ability to remain calm in an emergency situation;
• willingness to work shifts; trustworthy; high sense of responsibility and alertness and be
physically fit for duty;
• good knowledge of the locations of organizational units, functions and key personnel;

Maritime Security Agent:

Envoy Expeditionary Services is currently accepting CVs and resumes for deck, port and commercial vessel security agents. Ideal candidates will have at least four years of experience in military and / or police maritime enforcement. Ideal candidates will have experience of at least one year of high threat deployed experience, and operational experience in maritime platform operations. Candidates must be NATO state citizens with an unblemished background, be able to possess a public trust clearance, and submit to a thorough screening, including psychological, urinalysis, health, dental, and physical fitness testing.

Additionally, we are seeking operators who are fluent in multiple languages, combat medical trauma, armorers and defensive long range marksman and divers. Responsibilities for these positions are in the support of Maritime Commerce by providing security to commercial vessel crews, cargo and hull security.

Candidates must be capable of fulfilling lengthy cruises and adapt to utilizing a combination of visual and electronic detection methods, such as: heat-detecting (infra-red) sensors, magnified visual equipment and high-resolution video cameras. The goal is to identify, repel and engage threatening vessels and criminal boarding parties. In cases, may be required to operate patrol boats to intercept smaller vessels while, as mentioned above for the detection of threatening and criminal boarding parties.



Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidates must complete a screening period to display proficiency in performing the following:

Use of two-way radio and satellite communications
Ability to complete and submit watch documentation
Use weapon systems and perform echelon 1 maintenance for M249, M4 Carbine Rifle, Glock 9mm and .40 Caliber, AK47, Remington 870 Shotgun, and pyrotechnics. Designated Defensive Marksman will show proficiency in M-24 weapon system.
Small craft operations
Obtain a working knowledge of established Standard Operating Procedures and Rules Of Engagement
Techniques using physical restraining devices
Ability to operate for extended durations while working in small teams.
Stand and perform extended watch duties
Ability to function operationally during extended transoceanic assignments. (may reach up to sixty days)
Additional Requirements:

Appointments to said positions in the organization are subject to appropriate polygraph and background standards.
Some positions will require the performance of other essential and marginal functions depending upon work location or assignment.
Compensation is competitive with other high risk security positions.

Overview:
Responsible for assisting with OCONUS-based static and mobile security operations on assigned SOC program(s) under the direction of the In-country Operations Officer (OPSO). Assist the PSD Team Leader as required in the enforcement of security policies, guidelines and procedures to ensure mission required performance. Assist the PSD Team Lead to coordinate at the direction of the OPSO, security related activities and concerns with internal and external customers.



Responsibilities:
•Plan, perform and supervise day to day protective security functions as specified in PSD and detail orders while training and utilizing local national team members in both low-profile and high-profile movements.
•Responsible for safe operations of assigned security transportation to ensure for principal's safety to include (water, air, and ground) operations.
•Responsible for planning, scheduling, organizing, managing, and assessing performance of assigned security personnel under designated contract or assigned movements.
•Ensure all shift assigned security personnel executing their responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
•Assess performance of assigned security personnel and ensure proper behavior on and off duty.
•Assist in ensuring essential support is planned, provided and maintained for Team security personnel to ensure mission performance.
•Develop a professional relationship that instills confidence and trust with host nation counterparts.
•Assist in precluding behavior that would reflect poorly on SOC, the perspective client, or the local Government requesting the additional security support.
•Maintain a close working relationship with all other security counterparts.
•Performs other duties as assigned to include liaising with U.S. or ISAF Forces, Afghan Police or Military forces in accordance with running proper PSD or mobile security operations.



Qualifications:
Experience Required:

Candidate should at a minimum possess four (4) years military/law enforcement experience and at least one (1) year of security experience year of experience in a High Threat Environment with previous PSD experience. Combat Medic\Paramedic\EMT background also preferred. Preference will be given to those candidates who have previous operational experience within Afghanistan.


Special Knowledge/Skills Required:

•Knowledge of industrial security laws and regulations.
•Knowledgeable of use and employment of various radio communications systems.
•Ability to communicate effectively with persons at all levels.
•Knowledge of company's security policies and procedures.
•Ability to communicate fluently in the English language.
•Must be able to travel and live at overseas work locations and meet minimum agility and health standards required by contract. Will be required to plan for and work in a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions, rudimentary infrastructure, field deployments that implicate extended deployment periods of time in tents and hazardous conditions consistent with working in an insurgent environment for periods of up to three months or more at any one time.
•Knowledge of various computer applications such as Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
•Possess or have the ability to receive a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
